Common Questions

What are the benefits of using at-home STD/STI testing kits?
There are several benefits to using at-home STD/STI testing kits, including:

  • Convenience: You can test for STDs/STIs in the privacy of your own home, without having to go to a doctor’s office.
  • Privacy: Your results are confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your consent.
  • Accessibility: At-home STD/STI testing kits can make it easier for people to get tested, even if they have difficulty accessing healthcare services.
Should I take this test if I was previously diagnosed with HIV or Syphilis?

If you have previously been diagnosed with HIV or Syphilis, you should not take an antigen-antibody test for the same infection because these tests are designed to detect the presence of antibodies. Once a person is diagnosed with an infection, their immune system will typically produce antibodies specific to that infection which could result in a false positive result.

What collection methods does the test use?

The Expanded STD kit is a test that checks for HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Trichomoniasis. The test uses a finger prick blood sample and a urine sample for collection.

How do I send my samples to the lab?
The kit will come with instructions on how to send your samples to the lab. The kit includes a prepaid shipping label.
How soon will my kit arrive?

Your kit should arrive within 3 business days of placing an order.

How fast will I get the results?

Test results can be assessed on the portal within 24-48 hours after the sample arrives at the SHK lab.

How accurate are the tests?

Simple HealthKit tests rely on detecting specific markers or substances in the body and are highly accurate when used correctly according to the instructions provided.

How will I receive my results?

You can access your test results by logging into the simple health kit online portal using your username and password.

Is the test mailed in a discreet package?

Yes, the STD/STI (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) home testing kits are shipped discreetly in a plain mailer to ensure privacy and confidentiality. The mailer only includes a shipping label.

What would happen if I had an abnormal/positive result?

A GetPersonal provider will contact you if you have an abnormal result to schedule follow up testing, discuss treatment options, and provide educational counseling.

What if I need a STD/STI Testing Kit sooner than 3 days?

Please reach out to help@simplehealthkit.com for more information.

Are STDs/STIs curable?
  • Some STDs/STIs are curable such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomoniasis, and Syphilis, while others are not. Curable STDs/STIs can be treated with antibiotics or other medications, and the infection can be eliminated from the body.
  • Incurable STDs/STIs cannot be cured such as HIV, but they can be managed with medication or other treatments to reduce symptoms and prevent complications.
